I Love you always and forever
This story is about two mice named longtail and littletail. Throughout the day, these mice do many different activities such as racing and hide and seek. Littletail is sad because longtail is always faster and stronger and always wins the games. At the end of the day, when it is time for bed, longtail says that one day littletail will be just as fast and strong as he is but one thing that will never change is how much longtail loves littletail. He says that no matter what changes, he will love her forever.
I chose this book because I think it would be a good story to use in a kindergarten classroom when students are coming to school for the first time all day. This book can help students understand that even though things may be changing, their parents will love them forever no matter what. After reading this story, I would have the kindergarteners make a collage of the people that will love them forever. We will habg those up around the room so when they are feeling sad they can look at their pictures to remind them that they are loved by special people. This activity relates to the kindergarten standard: Describe familiar people, places, things, and events and, with prompting and support, provide additional detail which is under the English Language Arts strand of speaking and listening.
